THE BIG COMBO received a great review that ran in the print and online edition of The Portland Mercury this week. Jason Rouse and I also spoke to Ted Douglass on Metroscope PDX about the show. Check out the review and radio interview, then buy your tickets to see the show!

THE BIG COMBO is an original sketch comedy show from writer/producer Caitlin Kunkel (Second City, Late Night Action) and writer/director Jason Rouse (Sweat, Live Wire, Weekend at Bernie’s). They’ve created a show concerning complex lists, nervous rotisserie chickens, the dangers of fresh water swimming, waiting rooms, the deep knowledge of four-year-olds, sanctioned time travel and Boz Scaggs. They’re able to do this because of the venerable talent assembled from Portland’s improv, theater and stand-up scene.

A NIGHTMARE ON ELF STREET opened to a fantastic crowd on Friday, 12/6! On Saturday, 12/7, I pulled double-duty as a writer/director with another great performance of NIGHTMARE at 7:30pm, and then directed/served as head writer for the second episode of season 3 of LATE NIGHT ACTION WITH ALEX FALCONE at Action/Adventure Theater at 10:00pm.
LATE NIGHT ACTION featured a sketch I wrote for NIGHTMARE called “Seriously Worst Christmas Ever.” It’s a parody of A Christmas Carol and other other heart-warming holiday stories. The cast came along and energetically performed the sketch for the sold-out late night crowd. Guests that evening were Monica Drake, author of Clown Girl and The Stud Book, April Baer, host of State of Wonder on OPB, and HUMAN BEAT BOX MACHINE Fogatron.
All in all, an awesome weekend! I celebrated by sleeping all day Sunday.
We’re back with more NIGHTMARE this Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm at the Brody Theater – come out and get some holiday spirit shoved down your throat!
I’ll be directing and writing for this great monthly variety show when it comes back for the third season on Saturday, November 9 at 10:00pm at Action/Adventure Theatre. More information can be found on the show website and below:
