Here is the piece I wrote for The Second City Network on the day that convicted sex offender Brock Turner was released from prison after serving just three months of a a six-month sentence. It’s a follow-up to my initial piece, which I wrote in June when he was convicted.
Here is the new piece, entitled “7 Things That Last Longer Than Brock Turner’s Time in Jail Did.” I would say enjoy it, but I would prefer instead if you got really, really angry.
…I wish. Actually, reporting from my couch in Brooklyn. Here’s a lil Olympic comedy piece for Robot Butt, where I’m a contributing writer.
Thanks to Zuri Irvin over at @jokewriting on Twitter and Medium for interviewing me for his series of conversations with comedians. Comedians and writers, go over and check out the great resource of interviews he has compiled here. And you can read my ramblings in particular here!
Whoops! Forgot to post this Reductress piece I wrote in March combining two things I learned a lot about in Portland – sustainable water bottles and very high alcohol content IPAs. Check it out here: “The Hoppiest IPA’s to Drink From a Klean Kanteen.”
So, this was cool. I was featured in article in my college’s monthly magazine about Johns Hopkins nerds who are now making a living in comedy. The conceit is that JHU is not considered fun or funny, so how did this happen? I was INCREDIBLY flattered to be included with the other esteemed comedians in the story, and EVEN MORE FLATTERED by the illustrated version of my headshot that graced me with more hair than has ever cumulatively grown on my head in my entire life. Check it out, if not for my profile, then for the awesome people I’m surrounded by. Link here.
After four wonderful years in Portland, Mike and I are going back to our roots and taking off for the East Coast! We are moving to Park Slope, Brooklyn in a few weeks, which is basically our predetermined destination as a married couple in our thirties. It's been a blast to be a West Coaster for a bit and get to enjoy some "nature," "wellness," and "really good produce in all the stores." We're sad to leave behind the awesome friends we've made out here, but can't wait to see what NYC brings us beyond astronomically higher rent. Look up the Schmunkels next time you're in NY! #portland #brooklyn #brooklynofthewestportlandoftheeast @thefermentalist
